Alysha is having an upcoming Closing Reception for SUBTEXT, her solo show at 40AU Gallery. In SUBTEXT, she explores integrating her poetry and visual work in the form of prints, painting, sculpture, and installation. During the event, Alysha will read a selection of her poetry and give an artist talk sharing her creative process for the body of artwork on view.

Alysha Irisari Malo is presenting a show of new artwork entitled "The Dust Pulses" at the SNAP Building, 1224 Martin Street, during the March 7th Wedgewood Houston Arts and Music event from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. "The Dust Pulses" is comprised of abstract photography, excerpts of original poetry, and painterly mixed media paintings. Please come out to see the show and say hello!

Alysha will be a featured poet at Lyrical Brew at Barnes and Noble at Vanderbilt this Friday, October 3rd. The other two featured poets reading with her are Alicia Marie Brandewie and Max McDonough. The reading will start at 7:00, and last until around 8:15, though you are free to stay as long as you like afterwards. They will be reading their poems in rounds, and the host, Ciona Rouse, will do a short interview segment as well.

Alysha will be exhibiting her photography at CoLab in downtown Nashville, located at 230 N 4th Avenue, Suite 105, in the Wells Fargo Building across the street from the Arcade. Her show will be up from November 2nd to December 20th, 2013, with receptions during the First Saturday Art Crawls. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, November 2nd from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and the closing reception will be held on Saturday, December 7th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Alysha will be participating in Winter Walls 2009, an annual group show at Tinney Contemporary. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, December 5th, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, as part of the Downtown Art Crawl. The show will run from December 5th through January 30th, with normal business hours from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday, and by appointment. The gallery is located at 237 5th Avenue North in Nashville. Please stop by and enjoy the show!

Alysha will be participating in Hot, a group show at Ovvio Arte, a venue for contemporary art and performance. The show will also include work by artists Clifford Bailey, Veta Cicolello, Joe Silva, Jonny Silva, Victor Schmidt, and Sohaila Zanjani.
The opening reception will take place on Friday, August 14th, from 6:00 to 11:00 pm, at 425 Chestnut Street, Nashville. The show will run from August 14th to September 5th, and regular gallery hours are from 10:00 am to 2:00pm Wednesday through Saturday, and by appointment.

Alysha recently served as a member of the Artist Selection Panel for The Creative Arts Project catalogue.
The Creative Arts Project is an outreach program promoting recovery and resiliency for individuals with mental illness and substance abuse disorders who live in Middle Tennessee. The organization fosters expression and therapy through art making, and is in preparations of assembling a full color, professional fine arts catalogue displaying artworks of all media completed by participants in the program.
Fellow jurors included Joseph Whitt, Stacey Irvin, and Emily Harper. The catalogue will be published by the Vanderbilt University Press, and will be available in late 2009 or early 2010.
